These Words

Hmmm, the 12 x 12 wacom tablet at Southeast Asia costs a cool $500. !!! Hookay, way over the budget...but I have to get it.

So I'm going to proceed with my master plan...muahahahahaha

On a different note, I had fun roaming the streets of Bras basah with Yaoguang and Inez. We saw so many interesting buildings on the way. Hoo hoo we walked all the way from city hall to Plaza Singapura cause we wanted to play X-box.

(It's near wad...lol, I was bored at home so I asked them out t0 have some fun.)

While we were engrossed in our games, Jonathan suddenly popped in and gave me a tap on my head. I hate it when people do that to me. I didn't know it was Jon although I might have punched whoever did that out of reflex. Hee hee thank god I held back.

After our indulging gaming session, we went to PS for dinner. Since Jon was with his friends we left without him. There was no vacancy in KFC, LJS or Burger King, so we had our dinner on the high tables. In other words we had 'high dinner'.(groan...that was lame syam)

*Inez punched me in the stomach. First time a girl did that to me. Luckily she hit my belt too, haha Ouch...(what did I do?) So this * is to indicate the milestone event in an otherwise dull boy's life.

Ole~

Are you happy now?

I'm thinking of getting a tablet. It's essential for me to get it cause i need it to flatten and render digital paintings/comics. What's daunting is the hefty price of one tablet.

So my grand plan is, to check on the price of the tablet. Then if it is beyond my budget, I'll get a job. I think the tablet will be worth its cost. I've seen some online galleries and their work is excellent.

I'm going to do some really outstanding work for my portfolio. No more excuses. It's time to get seriously good and professional.

This is how I do the Victory Jig

Ho Ho Ho

Hail the undisputed king of badminton Hisyam, 0406.

Lol...I must be insane today. I did so many embarrasing things today; some really awkward poses and stances. Heh...it's been so long since I've played badminton. It was really a good workout today.

Thanks to Ridz, Celest, Inez, Yao Guang and Jonny who were there to play with me. I was so frickin bored yesterday. I had loads of fun today.

My Name's Jonny Tine (related to ovaltine) ass-wholes....

Wrong Impression

Arrgh! I can't get Ms Lee's words out of my mind.

"I get the impression that you can only sketch..."

I don't know why but these words left such a deep etch in my mind. It's so utterly humiliating to hear her utter that. I can do much more than just sketch...

Now there's this burning desire in me to show her that she's wrong. You're wrong! I'll do more for my portfolio. Next time, nobody will get the wrong impression...

Just Don't Tell Me That

I am so dead. I had my presentation today and both invigilators had nothing but unfavourable comments for both animation and portfolio. Well I guess I'll be getting a D or failing this project. Funny, I don't even feel dissapointed.

Episode # 1 - 13

Aberration

Sometimes I feel like some sideshow freak whose fame is shortlived. Just like a candle in the wind, his fame burns brightly for five minutes before extinguishing into oblivion.

There's only so much you can do, but if somebody doesn't give you a chance there is nothing you can do.

- Charlize Theron

Episode #1 - 12

I'm getting more discouraged and less confident about my animation as days pass by. I wish it could have been over in a week.

I know I'm being an ingrate by saying so. Solely because I have made use of this extra time to evaluate my mistakes.

However it has erroded my confidence and self-esteem. My confidence is at its lowest ebb.

Furthermore I've been feeling so lonely these past few weeks. More acute than I have felt over these past semesters.

My life is boring. (said it twice now)
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

I know what's my definition of a good friend. Or rather who would be suitable for me! In fact I've narrowed down the characteristics of my close friends who've been with me for the past years:

Someone

1.who listens to my complaints, etc (mostly about other people) and I mean truly listens; in other words he/ she doesn't go gallivanting to another party just because I bore him/her.
2.who gives me advice
3.who is confident
4.who is trustworthy

It's not in order of merit although I do regard no 1 as the most valued of trait. This is not meant to put down anyone but is my stand of a close friend. And Oh man, DO I love to complain.

Brandy
Episode #1 -10

The Pacifier starring Vin Diesel wasn't as terrible as the critic from The New Paper had surmised. It was actually quite enjoyable although it didn't reach out to me at all. It was just a basic formulaic story with VD (lol sounds like some STD) being the major draw of the film.

Even as I type, the plot of the story is slowly fading from my mind. But 'great mogagaly mogagagly' the STAR WARS EPISODE 3 trailer had taken my breath away! It was more grand than the teasers had let on. This is it...the episode to watch. *Hmmm wonder if Anakin will kick some Jah Jah Binx ass. (seriously that creature is so annoying)

After the movie, I went to Comics Mart to look for Superman/Batman issue 18/19? I can't find them anywhere...don't tell me they've delayed the deadline, sheesh. I checked out Kinokuniya too but its exaperatingly not there either. It wasn't a lost cause after all. I bought Liberty Meadows Book 3 Hard Cover. Brandy definitely has some big bazangas. LOL Frank Cho draws the most sexiest comic women I've ever seen. Plus, he's got such a wicked mind.

The party's not over yet. Smallville rocked my world today! Woo HOO. Alfred and Miles Millar (the writers) never dissapoint the viewers with their vision of Smallville. They really made this episode so (pardon the pun) SUPER. Oh My God... Margot Kidder made a special appearance. Just hearher say, "Yes I love him but that was a lifetime ago..." how was that for a referrence to the Superman movies? DUh, she was the Lois Lane and the late Christopher Reeves was none other than Superman. Ha ha they even made the pilots utter the famous phrase, it's a bird? it's a plane?.

Oh man, there was so much skin shown in this episode...lol how many times are they going to have Tom Welling topless? It's nothing but gratuitous sex appeal. They even had Kristin do a pole dance in the shower. (kidding!)

I'd have to say that Erica Durance certainly made an impression on me. She's a feisty Lois Lane. Not to mention, easy on the eyes *drools. Well it looks like Smallville is ready to rock my life again.

4.07.2005

Episode #1 - 9

I'm such a simple minded idiot. And I've just realised the extent of my weakness today. Lol I maybe 22 but I'm so one dimensional, so ignorant, so blessed?

Ignorance is blissful. But the truth is a bitter pill, hard to swallow. I make descisions everyday without realising the significance. Honesty and sincereity is a rare virtue.

I know this may all sound greek to you but this post is, well, really - just for me. Something that I'd be able to reflect on, many years later. If I read this at all :P

4.05.2005

Episode #1 - 8

Ooh...doing animation at 8 in the morning really hurts my noggin head. Lol. Even so, I managed to maintain the progress that I had planned. So hurray me!

Now that I'm edging closer to completion, I wonder if I'll be able to do a good job. Wonder whether it's good enough for them. Because in the end, it's the product that will be under scrutiny and not the effort. That's how the world is...

4.04.2005

Episode # 1 - 7

I was quite satisfied with the amount of drawings I had completed during the 3 hours of animation today. If I can only maintain the pace throughout the next four days I'm sure I can accomplished a good clip by the end of the week.

Ho ho, I was so focused during the studio project that I didn't listen to my mp3 player. I don't think I'll do anything at home for now because I'm sure there'll be plenty of things to do in the following weeks.

I'll just take this first week as my trial and evaluation period. Provided if I'm behind schedule then it's going to be Plan 'B' which I'm not exactly sure what it is yet...

4 more days ...Smallville...

4.03.2005

Episode # 1 - 6

It's weird how something as intangible as music can have such an impact on my actions and feelings. For instance if I was listening to some sad piano recital I would inadvertantly feel depress and lonely.

Then there are songs which bring to life, memories of yesterday. Those sweet moments which are nothing more but history today. Listening to these songs have a different effect on my personality. And they are special to me because of the sentimental attachments.

I'd like to refer to these songs as the soundtrack of my life.

4.02.2005

Episode #1- 5

OMG
Someone up there must've heard my wishes...Smallville's returning to Ch5 on Fridays. Although it's return wasn't hyped up like The OC's was. None of that matters! Finally I get to see Clark flying? They said that he would never fly in this series; were they just rumours to throw fans off? Oh man, I've been waiting for such a long time, I hope it's worth the wait.

Smallville is going to feature Erica Durance as Lois Lane. It's going to be spectacular because even though the story's about a hero's origins, it's also flushed with human drama and relationships. I'm so psyched!

When I first digested this piece of information yesterday I was so elated. Then I find out that Justice League and Spiderman Animated is on Saturdays from 1-2pm. GOsh, pinch me already! Am I dreaming? It's JUSTICE LEAGUE's SECOND SEASON! The season which eventually ends in the dissolve of Earth's greatest superhero team and the formation of Justice League Unlimited. The Superheroes just can't seem to work together anymore. I don't particularly agree with how they play Superman's role in the breakup though. It doesn't seem like his character to be so brash about his powers.
If you don't understand why Justice League is so WOW! you have to tune in. There's Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Hawk Girl, Martian Manhunter, Batman and of course, Superman. They are all legendary heroes of DC. All of them in one animated series. Imagine a group of heroes with demi-god powers fighthing to uphold truth and justice against the most notorious villains in DCuniverse. It doesn't get any better, trust me.

Public Enemies. Art: Ed McGuiness
Episode #1-4

Finally, I've some time to blog without any pending assignments on my mind. Phew, I don't mind having work to do...but I've been so wound up lately. I really need some time to reflect and basically idle without guilt on my conscience.

LOL...nobody remembered that today is April Fool's Day!

Everyone was so focused on their work that they forgot. I remembered cause I was reading the New Paper and the date caught my eye.

I didn't blog these past few days so let me give a brief flashback:
.
.
.
.
Thurs: OMG! Mr Baktha was featured in The New Paper. His 5 min cartoon Elephant OK! is in the Singapore Film Festival nominations but I've forgotten which category.

Arrgh! To hell with my (Design Fund) Bus advertisement. I didn't have enough time to render the illustrations but I won't be improving on it. I've spent too much money on printing and mounting this week. I have to watch my spending especially now that I'm a student. Grades are not important to me. That's something I believe (which may be my downfall).
.
.
.
.
Weds: Hardly caught any sleep. SO my body is set with fatigue and my mind belaboured. Then Eric started commenting on our poster after showing up in class about half an hour late. I felt like closing my eyes.
I went off to BBC thinking that there was no animation lecture. I was wrong. Shit...I wasn't missing out on anything(another round of animations) but I think nobody bothered to sign my attendance for me. Woo Hoo.
.
.
.
.
Tues:MCQ?! Oliver is such a blowheart. I recalled him saying that the test would be multiple choice. What gives? I could've taken more effort had I known it was going to be QnA.
Dammit! I kept tripping over my feet today. First I had an awkward fall at Lvl 5 blk M outside of Lina Tay's room. Later at the MRT platform. Where I tripped over my extended tube. I nearly died...cause the train was approaching and I was just a few centimetres away from the tracks. Then inside the MRT carriage I stepped over a man's shoe when I lost my balance yet again.
Finally I manage to get my hands on Superman/Batman: Public Enemies! Ed's art is so GOOD. Powergirl is so sexy...lol. She's got such big B***s. It certainly justified the amount I paid for the comic...lol. No, don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Superman and that's the main reason why I bought Public Enemies.
