Going Under / Evanescence
I dreamt that I was a boy who lived in a gothic village. Everyone was living in fear of a vampire who seemed invincible. Then there was a council who deemed that I was able to vanquish the dreaded evil and gave me a mystical sword which had the power to do it. It was a very unusual sword. It had intricate engravings and it was glowing with blue light. There was no sun and I came to a conclusion that the evil had cast a spell which blocked it out. Somehow I managed to drive the sword into the nosferatu's chest and he was defeated.
Oddly, the dream doesn't end there. I was transported to a parallel world. This world was facing the same problem. The medieval people were under the threat of another vampire. I didn't know why I was transported there but I had become a mentor for a boy who was chosen to be the wielder of the sword. It was coincidentally the same sword that had been plunged into the vampire in my other dream universe. We had a squire who tagged along. The three of us ventured into an eerie castle. It was void of any occupants. Just solid stonehewn walls that seemed to be taller than anything I've ever seen before.
I passed the boy a ring and told him that with it he could magically freeze his enemy. However I cautioned him that I didn't exactly know what effect it could have on the master. (I had gained knowledge that the vampire had a female underling. SO now there were two vampires.)
The boy seemed to be growing in confidence. Even the squire sang praises to him, saying how he easily the vampires would be eliminated under his sword. Suddenly we saw the female vampire in the foyer of the castle. The boy chased her and before she could do anything, he used the ring and sealed her in the binding spell. She was frozen!
Then the master appeared. I shouted to the boy to be careful and use the sword to strike him down. The boy was arrogant and ignored my warning. He used the ring's spell again only to find out that the master was immune to it. The master vampire gleefully tore off the ring and used it on the boy. He became a statue. Locked forever in suspension together with the only weapon capable of destroying the enemy.
I was devastated. Together with the squire, we fled for our lives. While climbing the castle stairs I reached the parapets and saw an opaque beige cloud with static lightning bursting from within. There I was alone on the highest floor, (the squire disappeared) I thought of how I had failed this universe and remember my own surreal reality. Then with the vampire closing in on me I jumped into the cloud.
PS: 1) I don't think the bad guys were vampires though. I had the impression that they were. 2) After jumping into the clouds, I gained consciousness. Now that I have the opportunity to give it some thought, I believe that I wasn't comitting suicide but trying to propel myself into the twin universe; the one which I had killed the vampire. So that I could retrieve the unique sword capable of defeating them.
