Blur! so blur....

I thought the claymation briefing was at 1.50pm but it had started one hour earlier...so I missed all the vital instructions. Then we couldn't find Eugene, so we're still in the pre-production stage..

I saw Haidar and Yaoguang today in the computer lab (with their laptops) working on their assignments, they seem to be very busy. They commented that my skin had become visibly darker and I was really surprised because I didn't notice anything different...

The world is full of mysteries and I love them. It gives life dimension instead of simple flat existence. Just look at how popular Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code is. People want to know the unknown. It's within our minds to explore and acquire knowledge. Sometimes its just plain fun to speculate. (hahaha...)

You know what's fun for me? To sit under the stars and think about the vastness of space...clear my thoughts and just focus on that...endless possibilities...worlds...

two words: mind-bending
Oh no....I hate it when this happens...

I slept through the night with my MSN messenger account logged in. While waiting for a reply I thought, hey why don't i try lying my head on the pillow. What a mistake...I fell asleep immediately and the consequence of my absence is a slew of unreplied IM's which I now feel very guilty of.

Sorry everyone...this is why I don't like to log in when I'm sleepy...

Stallion: The Spirit Of Cimarron

I've never watched in the movies but I really wanted to catch this feature animated film on tv. The reason is this week in fantastic figure, I have to draw some centaurs and Stallion has beautiful drawings of horses which I could use as a reference.

It was, IMHO, well done. (check out the canyons and river...first disney movie to integrate CG together with pencil drawings and it even won an academy award) In addition it posessed a powerful story. But it lacked greatness, the way The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin had achieved. I just don't know how to explain it...

So now, I'm going to do some research...to see whether I can dig up some anatomical studies of horses from Stallion. CYA

Goblet Of Fire

Blogger went to post my entry yesterday even though during the uploading it seemed to hang. So I have two versions. How cool is that?

I went to watch the fourth installment of Harry Potter. This is my first time watching the series. My verdict? Well I did enjoy watching it, in fact it was probably better than some of the movies I've watched lately. (Zorro...)

Moreover it cost me $4.50 to buy the tickets from a friend (not a scalper please...) who had a special offer because his mother had advance bookings through her company. It was well worth my time watching.

Irritating....

Blogger just loses my post when it hangs during the uploading. Then I have to type everything again.

TSK

Anyway...next week I have a lot of things to cover. Two tests, one assignment and concept to pitch. On top of that, the claymation contest that I registered for. I dont mind the work though, it helps me focus.

Today's soccer was really tiring. The sun was really hot at 3pm and it had affected my energy. Just after two hours I got cramps in my legs. The weather can influence the work rate or performance of a player and that's something I learnt today.

Also, I outpaced myself because I wanted to go back home at 5. You know, its weird how Im so in tune with my physical abilities and when I'm running, my mind is hyperactive. I wonder if this is normal.
So many things to expect next week. I have two tests, one assignment and concept to pitch. Besides this I also have the claymation contest to deal with. But I like keeping myself busy...it helps me focus.

Ahh...you know the sun was really very hot today at 3 pm. Exactly when I played soccer. I never took into consideration that the weather can tire my body faster than usual. So I outpaced myself and got burnt out after 2 hours. I got cramps in my legs too. (I never stretched before playing)

I really enjoy playing soccer now. It seems that I have improved my reading of the game and my mind is really active during each match. In a split second I have to make so many decisions and most of the time it works...so Im quite happy. I think its called vision.

Wadever....basically it's fun.

Im watching Goblet of Fire later...

Open Your Mind

You know I should be more disciplined in blogging...hehe I feel so lazy to post.

I went to check out the cybergames at Suntec Convention Hall today with my secondary school friend. I find it really - boring? Well I couldn't see what was going with all the bystanders forming an impenetrable wall. So I just went around looking until there was someone passing out freebies. I tried to get the razer lanyard but the crowd really picked up when some they heard someone was passing out freebies...omg...its just a stupid lanyard...I really wanted to turn back but I was pinned in then I thought to myself...I ain't leaving this riot without a freaking lanyard!(especially after all the trouble I went through) It was really ugly...damn kiasus. Oh...I almost forgot...I saw Fiona Xie and that dude hosting that show which I don't recall, taking photograph with fans...we just walked away...lol no big deal

Then I suggested to Badrul that we headed to Singapore History Museum because they were screening a free showcase of locally produced animation. He agreed and we decided to walk there. Unfortunately we got lost. I didn't know that the museum had temporarily relocated to riverside. SO we walked there and went straight ahead from the MITA building thinking it was just up ahead. In the end we circled Fort Canning Hill, only to find the museum had been closed for renovations...Badrul knew...why didn't he tell me? I'm super blurrrrrrr

It wasn't so bad we managed to see Srinivas Baktha's(my animation guru) 'Flutter', 'Elephant OK' and the other I can't quite remember and Damien - Rex's 'Habit'. Ooooh then there was a Q&A session...A short break at 625pm and I went to Liang Court for dinner. OMG no other fast food outlet except for MacDonald's...Damn it...been eating it for a week DIE mac I hate you

I was still contemplating on attending the 'Best Of Ottawa 2004, 2005 ' screening which was between 7-9, 9-11 respectively. Then I thought...go for it since Desmond convinced me that it was free. Kekeke hey....it was so inspirational, awesome, funny!, weird, ridiculous and amazing all at the same time. (some were just plain kooky...) What an eye opener....so many interpretations, techniques and stories divulged. It was worth spending my time there, I learnt a thing or two.

Oh yeah, on a final note...I'm so embarrased...kept thinking Ottawa was some Japanese animator...It's the name of a place....So goondu ~ Hisyam!!!!

11.17.2005

Ooops I thought concept and development class was at 12pm. So I slept in all the way until 9 35 am when I saw a message on my HP from Yumi, "Hey syam...Tml cp starts at ten. My mistake..."(which by the way, she sent at 5:37 am) She had earlier in the morning said yes when I asked her whether class began at 12pm. Lol I don't blame her, should've check my time-table.

11.11.2005

Eh...Thursdays are so pointless...
Go to school and attend lecture for
an hour. The only reason that I can think
of that makes it worthwhile is you...

I just had a nightmare so I'm awake now still recuperating from the shock.

It was a weird nightmare. Sort of like a nightmare within a dream. In the nightmare I was being smothered with my own pillow by invisible hands and I was desperately shouting for my mother whom I had seen earlier. Then I woke up from that nightmare to find myself still within my dream and I forced myself to wake up. Don't you just hate these type of dreams. I mean isn't one enough?

One thing I know for sure, nightmares don't scare me anymore. In fact I've had even scarier nightmares than this, so I'm not that spooked. I wish I could talk to someone about it though. (Everyone's asleep now)

School starts officially in a few hours so maybe I should get some more sleep...zzz

Forget what I said Im totally at fault....cause I remember saying nevermind, nevermind
and nevermind. I don't mind, I'm so stupid that's why I keep losing my soccer balls.
I lost another soccer ball and this time it wasn't even mine to start with. I borrowed it from a friend just so that we could play soccer together on the 31st. And when my friend was temporarily uncontactable I even condsidered buying a new soccer ball.

We didn't manage to play soccer because the pitch was waterlogged so I ended carrying the ball around until it was time to leave for my other appointment. Then of course I remembered someone offering to keep the soccer ball for me and I was so grateful. I should've taken it home with me.

Now nobody knows where the ball is. Obviously it was left behind at Marina South and inadvertantly of course I will be the person responsible for the loss since I loaned it.

I don't understand why people can't have the decency to return me a soccer ball or pay me what they owe. Since previously two of them were casually kicked to the rooftop. One was just bought that day, it was brand new.

Both of them cost $20. I don't know how much I'll end up paying for this ball but this is just the last straw for me. When they need a soccer ball they ask me and of course I obliged. Then when shit happens its my shit to deal with...ah forget it I'm just so sick of this whole entire thing.

I am never ever going to supply soccer balls to anyone anymore.

Shan Shan's sister just opened her shop yesterday. It's a cosplay dress store named Haru? Dorothy was really shocked to see that display sign.

Lol I didn't think for one second that it was named after her but she really seemed to believe that. Actually as Shan Shan's sister explains, it was chosen because she likes flowers and Haru means spring time.

Shan Shan looked really different in black and white ensemble, complete with a tiara. She did look like she just popped out from a manga - cool!

My flu really irritated me so I went home while they (Dorothy, Raymond, Yanwei, Celest) spent some time at Kinokuniya.

11.01.2005

We went to Marina South to celebrate Yaoguang and Catherine's birthday which is in the month of November. Unfortunately the field was waterlogged so we couldn't play soccer. We went bowling instead.

Heh heh I hate to lose lol...but I think my team, Ni Ru Tuo(help dunno how to spell), Niece, Nezzie, Jingrong(?) did really well the second round. No really - I was impressed. Then we hit the arcade for some more fun before I had to leave for my other appointment at 6pm.

You see, my animation class also planned to go out today...so I ran all the way to Suntec City to catch a movie with them. (The Legend of Zorro) It wasn't that awful but wasn't that great either. However the movie did make me think about donning a mask...I think girls like masked men...hahahahaha....dots

After that we had dinner and I went homeward bound. Aaah my flu is really irritating. Now about that mask....

a 'H' thats spells for Hisyam...ole`

Happy birthday to Yaoguang, Catherine and Eunice!
